No matter how passionate each of us is about saving the climate or helping all the people who are victims of climate catastrophes, there is a limit to what we can each do on our own. Therefore, it is of great importance to support the NGOs that are fighting for the cause on our behalf, on behalf of the victims, and on behalf of the climate. I personally support Care Denmark, the Red Cross, Verdens Skove (Worlds Forests) and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), but several other organisations are also worth supporting.

Care Denmark works to ensure that the world’s poorest and most climate-vulnerable people can create a good and dignified life, both before, during, and after a disaster. Care focuses on innovative solutions to the challenges posed by climate change for the world’s poorest.

Verdens Skove (Worlds Forests) is a Danish organisation with a global mission. They fight for forests both nationally and internationally, biodiversity, the climate, indigenous peoples, and making nature a political priority.

Catastrophes are central to the Red Cross's work. They have a special, legally mandated role when war rages, and the most vulnerable need protection. As such, they hold a unique mandate that grants them access to battlefields and prisons. Furthermore, the Red Cross, alongside the UN, is also one of the major players in long-term development in the world’s poorest countries.

WWF is the world’s largest conservation organisation, working in over 100 countries and on more than 1,000 projects to save nature and wildlife – and to create a sustainable future for all of Earth’s people. Their work focuses on creating more space for nature and preserving the habitats of wild animals.

The Church of Denmark's Aid helps people in extreme need, whether they are oppressed, displaced, or persecuted. Whether they are fleeing from war, natural disasters, or climate change, it matters less as long as they are people in need. The aid is often distributed as climate aid, disaster relief, development aid, or support for the protection of basic human rights.

Danish Refugee Council is an international refugee organisation that assists refugees and internally displaced people worldwide. They provide emergency humanitarian aid and supplies, and they help refugees and displaced people integrate and adapt to host communities.

Greenpeace-logo.png

Greenpeace is an association of people united to speak out against the destruction of nature and to protect people, the oceans, land, and the climate. They are independent of national and international political interests, making them an independent voice for environmental conservation.

The Danish Association for International Co-operation promotes international understanding and solidarity by contributing to sustainable global development and a fair distribution of the Earth's resources through collaboration across national and cultural boundaries.

The Climate Movement aims for all citizens in Denmark and around the world to be able to live their lives free from catastrophic climate change, which would strain the stability of our societies. It is Denmark's association of grassroots climate activists, offering political, administrative, and knowledge-based support to their member and campaign groups, as well as alliance partners.
